Established in 1838 as The Polytechnic Institution, the University of Westminster has a rich history of providing students with academic excellence, cultural engagement and personal enrichment. Fast forward into the 21st century, it is now spread across four campuses and continues to serve students from around the world.
Home to the Westminster Business School and School of Architecture and Cities, the Marleybone Campus has recently undergone a refurbishment to modernise facilities throughout. With a continuous flow of students, teaching staff and visitors, the whole building, including the washrooms are subject to high footfall.
Working with RG2 Maintenance + Construction, our Solid Surface WT1 Sloping Thermoformed Wash Trough was selected in the timeless Basalt Sky colourway. The thermoformed trough body offers a reduction in joints which not only makes cleaning easy but also improves hygiene. The durable nature of the solid surface material ensures that the wash trough will withstand the demands of daily use, guaranteeing many years of service for the university.
The design specification included a Vanity Underframe to conceal and secure all pipework. While also delivering a neat and streamlined appearance, the colouring of the neutral Gunmetal Grey underframe and Cloud Grey IPS Panels co-ordinate seamlessly with the wash trough. To ensure easy use for all, the hand wash station was completed with push action taps, with the self-closing function ensuring ongoing water efficiency for the university.
